Elsevier seeks a Senior Software Engineer / Senior AI Engineer to join embedded innovation squads, tackling AI-enabled software design and implementation. You’ll drive prototypes, build agentic workflows, mentor junior engineers, and ensure robust integration with enterprise systems.

Role emphasizes end-to-end delivery, collaboration with stakeholders, and ongoing learning in a fast-moving AI-enabled environment.

Qualifikationen

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with AI-enabled or data-intensive systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, or equivalent.
• Autonomous, delivery-focused with short, time-boxed cycles and validated outcomes.
• Experience building RAG pipelines, tool-augmented agents, and agentic workflows.

Aufgaben

• Build prototypes and proofs of concept; ship AI-enabled solutions.
• Implement and test tool use, retrieval pipelines, and agent workflows.
• Contribute to evaluation, observability, and guardrails for agentic systems.
• Mentor junior engineers through pair programming and collaboration.
• Write and review detailed specifications for complex components.
• Integrate AI into existing systems via APIs and data pipelines.
