Job summary

Elsevier is seeking a Principal Product Manager to own agentic retrieval and orchestration for LeapSpace. You will shape the engine at the heart of the product, coordinating across AI, data science, and platform teams to drive staged production releases.

You will guide strategic decisions, balance trade-offs, and work closely with senior leadership to define the roadmap. This is a hands-on delivery leadership role in a fast-moving, research-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building and shipping complex AI or data-intensive products, with sustained ownership of strategy and delivery.
• Deep expertise in generative AI products, including retrieval-augmented generation and agentic workflows.
• Proven ability to drive product strategy across multiple engineering orgs and external dependencies.
• Strong go-to-market experience.
• Experience with hypothesis-driven evaluation and experimentation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for agentic retrieval and orchestration.
• Make sequencing calls across teams and carry them across involved squads.
• Lead migration of engine capabilities from prototype to production and plan increments.
• Translate prototype behaviour into engineering-ready work with clear acceptance criteria.
• Keep teams informed ahead of change and consolidate needs into platform work.
• Anticipate demand from product roadmap and position engine accordingly.
• Expand LeapSpace surface area through the engine and collaborate with partner teams.
