Job summary

Astbury St Mary's CofE Primary School is seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to support learning and pupil progress. You will work closely with the class teacher to engage pupils, foster a safe classroom atmosphere and assist with materials and setup.

The role runs Monday to Friday during term time, 8.30am–3.30pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. A patient, proactive approach and safeguarding commitment are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with children in a primary school setting.
• Warm, patient and resilient approach to working with children.
• Commitment to safeguarding and equal opportunities policies; Enhanced DBS required.

Responsibilities

• Support the teacher with delivering targeted learning activities for individuals and groups.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a calm, productive environment.
• Assist with preparing learning materials and setting up equipment.
• Provide extra care and guidance for pupils with diverse learning or SEND needs.
• Monitor pupil progress and communicate with teaching staff.
