Job summary

Walliscote Primary School in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a committed Primary Teaching Assistant to support learning across year groups and assist the class teacher in delivering engaging activities.

You will provide targeted support to pupils, help with classroom preparation and marking, and contribute to an inclusive, nurturing school environment, working term-time only with a 30-hour week.

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged children is required.
• Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Additional Learning Needs (ALN) is desirable.
• Good understanding of emotional needs of children with autism, ADHD and attachment issues.

Responsibilities

• Support children’s learning individually and in groups.
• Assist the class teacher with marking and record-keeping.
• Prepare classroom resources and display materials.
• Cover the class when the teacher is absent (planned/reactive).
• Support pupils' pastoral needs and help with school trips and events.
