Sense Education is looking for a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils in a welcoming and inclusive school in Carlisle. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, caring, and passionate about helping children thrive in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support individual students or small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence.
2. Adapt tasks and activities to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
3. Assist teachers with classroom preparation and organisation.
4. Encourage social and emotional development, helping children build friendships and independence.
5. Provide a positive and engaging learning environment where every child feels supported.

What We’re Looking For:

1. Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience.
2. Experience working with children in an educational setting is beneficial.
3. Experience supporting individuals with SEND is highly desirable.
4. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
5. Patience, enthusiasm, and a nurturing approach to learning.

Location: Carlisle

Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Applications: Both part-time and full-time applications are welcome.

Start Date: Immediate, long-term opportunity

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do. We undertake checks on all candidates and require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may need to complete a new DBS application. Temporary roles are paid weekly, with rates inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is initially temporary but may become permanent.
