Job summary

Primary Teaching Assistant (SEMH Experienced)

Location: Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire

Start: ASAP

GSL Education is seeking a skilled Primary Teaching Assistant (SEMH Experienced) for a primary school in Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire.

Job Summary: The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in the classroom and during other school activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as required.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and parents.
  • Contribute to the development of resources and strategies to support SEMH students.
  • Foster a safe and supportive atmosphere that encourages positive social interactions and emotional wellbeing.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs in an educational setting.
  • A relevant qualification in education, child development, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH strategies and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s development.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
