Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience working with students aged 7 - 18 with SEMH needs.
• Team Teach training is advantageous but not necessary.
• Good level of experience as a classroom support assistant.

Contract: Permanent, Temp to Perm

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Leader Group are working in partnership with a SEN School based in Halifax.

We are recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEN school, providing educational support to students aged 7 - 18.

You will have previous experience of working with students with SEMH needs - social, emotional and mental health issues (previously known as BESD, SEBD & EBD).

You will have excellent behaviour management skills as well as patience, empathy, and understanding.

THE JOB:

• You will be required to provide either one-to-one support or small group support to learners with SEMH needs
• Comply with individual EHC Plans
• Take direction from the class teacher and help support

YOU:

• You must be an experienced classroom support assistant with a good level of experience working with students with SEMH needs
• Be patient and resilient
• Make learning fun
• Have a therapeutic and holistic approach
• Team Teach trained would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
