Job summary

Wincle CE Primary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team. You will work in a mixed infant class (Reception to Year 2) and collaborate with the class teacher to motivate pupils, foster independence and promote inclusive education.

The role may involve leading small group teaching and potential HLTA duties. Start date 1 September 2026, 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, permanent contract. Grade 5, £26,403 per annum pro rata.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils in early years or primary settings.
• Ability to adapt tasks to individual needs and use strategies for inclusion.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Support a mixed infant class (Reception to Year 2) and work with the class teacher to inspire pupils.
• Promote independence, boost self-esteem and champion social inclusion for all pupils.
• Lead small group teaching and contribute to HLTA duties where appropriate.
• Support pupils’ mental health and well-being.
