Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Year 2 Teaching Assistant for a Primary School in Wigan. Join a supportive team and help pupils progress through KS1 with targeted interventions and 1:1 support.

You will work closely with the Class Teacher to deliver lessons, support end-of-year assessments, and contribute to a positive learning environment. Relevant TA qualifications and an enhanced DBS are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Primary School setting, KS1 is a bonus.
• Qualified Teaching Assistant with Level 2 or Level 3.
• Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to apply.
• CV covers last 10 years of employment; explain gaps.
• You must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Year 2 Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly Primary School in Wigan.

This is a full-time position supporting a Year 2 class, starting at the end of September.

The Role

As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping pupils transition through Key Stage 1. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Supporting the Class Teacher in delivering engaging lessons.
• Leading small group interventions in Phonics, Literacy, and Numeracy.
• Providing 1:1 support for pupils who require extra guidance to reach their milestones.
• Assisting with classroom management and creating a positive learning environment.
• Helping prepare the children for their end-of-year assessments in a low-pressure, supportive way.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience: Previous experience working within a Primary School setting (specifically KS1 is a bonus).

• Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
• You must have the legal right to work in the UK
