Job summary

Connex Education is recruiting dedicated Teaching Assistants to support primary schools in Portishead, within the Bath & Wells Multi Academy Trust. This role offers flexible opportunities across temporary, day-to-day, or longer-term placements to suit experience and career goals.

We are looking for individuals who enjoy working with children and can adapt to different classroom environments, while helping pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience.
• Experience supporting children in a primary school setting is beneficial.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within primary classrooms.
• Work alongside class teachers to help pupils engage with their learning.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support where required.
• Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
• Adapt confidently to different school settings, year groups, and classroom routines.
• Contribute to the wider school community and work effectively with colleagues.
