Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is recruiting a Trainee Teaching Assistant to work in primary settings across Bridgwater from September 2026. The role offers flexible daily supply, short-term placements and longer-term assignments, with competitive pay and PAYE processing.

The ideal candidate is motivated to develop classroom skills, with or without prior experience, and a willingness to learn within supportive school environments under safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to encourage participation.
• Assist in creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
• Promote positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing.
• Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
• Build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
