Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting Primary Teaching Assistants to support across Okehampton and surrounding areas. Roles include day-to-day supply, long-term placements, and flexible hours aligned with school terms from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

You will assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, support literacy and numeracy, help pupils including those with SEND, and enjoy weekly pay with local assignments in West Devon.

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary age children in school or related settings.
• Patient, proactive, and adaptable approach to pupil development.
• GCSE English & Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Full right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Classroom support: Assist teachers in delivering curriculum lessons.
• Targeted intervention: Work 1-on-1 or small groups in literacy and numeracy.
• Inclusive learning: Support pupils with SEND/SEN (Special Educational Needs).
• Environment & wellbeing: Foster a positive, safe learning environment.
