Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting Primary Teaching Assistants to support schools in Okehampton and surrounding areas. These roles offer flexible day-to-day or long-term placements with standard hours 8:30 AM–3:30 PM, term-time only, and a competitive daily rate of £92.56–£95.00.

You will help deliver engaging lessons, support literacy and numeracy, and assist pupils with SEND. Roles cover Okehampton, Hatherleigh, Chagford, Tavistock and nearby West Devon.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting primary age children in school, nursery, youth work or care environments.
• Patient, proactive, and adaptable approach to learning support.
• Strong literacy and numeracy foundations (GCSE English & Maths or equivalent).
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or readiness to complete one.
• Full right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Classroom support: assist teachers in delivering lessons.
• Targeted intervention: 1-on-1 or small groups in literacy and numeracy.
• Inclusive learning: support pupils with SEND/SEN.
• Environment & wellbeing: foster a safe, positive learning space.
