Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Sunderland (SR4) on a long-term basis from September. This temp-to-perm opportunity offers ongoing training and dedicated support within a community-focused environment.

You'll support children's learning through play-based activities, assist with personal care, and work with the Early Years team to observe progress. A caring, patient approach and safeguarding understanding are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in an Early Years, nursery, or school setting.
• A caring, patient, and supportive approach with a passion for helping children learn and develop.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff and families.
• Understanding of safeguarding, child development, and creating inclusive learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children's learning and development through engaging activities, play-based learning, and daily routines.
• Providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where all children feel supported and valued.
• Assisting with personal care, communication, and emotional wellbeing while promoting independence.
• Working alongside the Early Years team to observe progress, support individual needs, and contribute to planning activities.
