Job summary

Teacher Active is seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Mansfield and the surrounding areas. Roles include day-to-day supply and longer-term placements, with a salary of £95-£110 per day depending on experience.

You will work with pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, helping them develop confidence, independence and social skills while supporting teachers to create a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

We work closely with a range of mainstream primary schools and regularly receive requirements for Teaching Assistants across EYFS, Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2).

With opportunities ranging from day-to-day supply and short-term cover to longer-term placements, this is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking flexible work or more consistent hours.

The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will help support pupils' learning, development and wellbeing within the classroom. Depending on the school's requirements, your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils with their learning and classroom activities.
• Working with small groups or providing 1:1 support.
• Helping children develop confidence, independence and social skills.
• Supporting pupils who may need additional help or encouragement.
• Working closely with teachers to create a positive learning environment.

The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will Have:

• Experience working with primary-aged children.
• Experience in a school, nursery or educational setting.
• A good understanding of the UK Primary Curriculum.
• Confidence supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A positive, patient and proactive approach.
• The flexibility and reliability to work across different schools.
