Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Croydon school on a full-time, long-term basis. You will support pupils with a range of needs, delivering 1:1, small-group and classroom-based assistance to help them access learning and build communication and independence.

The ideal candidate is patient, proactive and adaptable, able to maintain calm and consistent support for pupils with challenging behaviour.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN/SEND
• Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH or communication needs
• Calm and consistent when supporting pupils with dysregulated or challenging behaviour

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group SEN support
• Support pupils with needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and Speech & Language difficulties
• Adapt activities and resources to individual learning needs
• Work towards targets outlined within pupils' EHCPs
• Deliver targeted SEND interventions
• Support communication, social interaction and independence
• Help pupils manage sensory and emotional regulation
• Use positive behaviour and de-escalation strategies where appropriate
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals

Contract: Long-term temporary with potential to become permanent

Long Term Futures is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Croydon, CR0 on a full-time, long-term basis.

You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, providing 1:1, small-group and classroom-based support. The focus will be on helping pupils access learning, develop their communication and independence, and feel confident and regulated throughout the school day.

We're looking for someone who is patient, proactive and able to adapt their approach depending on the individual needs of each pupil.
