Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Primary Supply Teacher to support a range of welcome primary schools in the Braintree area. You will deliver pre-planned lessons, maintain high behaviour standards and ensure pupils continue to make progress when their usual teacher is absent.

Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher, supply teaching offers flexibility, variety, and opportunities across day-to-day, short-term and long-term placements with dedicated support from a TeacherActive

Qualifications

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
• Experience teaching within a UK Primary School.
• Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to adapt quickly to different school environments.
• A positive, enthusiastic and flexible approach to teaching.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS to KS2 when assigned.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and pupil engagement.
• Create an engaging learning environment to support progress.
• Adapt teaching to suit different school settings and cohorts.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and school teams as needed.

Start Date: September 2026
Salary: £160 - £200 per day (Dependent on Experience)

We have work available to suit your availability, whether you're looking for one day a week or full-time opportunities.

The successful Primary Supply Teacher will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons, maintaining high standards of behaviour, creating an engaging learning environment, and ensuring pupils continue to make progress in the absence of their class teacher.

The successful Primary Supply Teacher will have:

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT)
• Experience teaching within a UK Primary School
• Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• The ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
• A positive, enthusiastic and flexible approach to teaching
