Job summary

TeacherActive is working with primary schools across Wakefield and the surrounding areas to provide flexible day-to-day supply opportunities. You will deliver lessons across KS1/KS2, build positive pupil relationships and adapt quickly to different environments.

With QTS, you’ll cover across primary years, maintain safeguarding standards and aim for long-term or permanent opportunities. Day rates range from £140–£225 per day, with ongoing consultant support and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – ECTs encouraged to apply.
• Experience working across KS1 and KS2.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Confidence delivering lessons across a range of subjects.
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Reliability and the ability to adapt quickly to different school environments.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons in line with the school's curriculum and follow provided planning.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive learning environment.
• Create supportive relationships enabling pupils to learn even when a teacher is absent.

We have a range of day-to-day opportunities available, giving you flexibility around when and where you work. We also work closely with schools recruiting for longer-term and permanent positions, giving you the opportunity to find a school that is the right fit for you.

As a Primary School Teacher, you will deliver lessons in line with the school's curriculum, follow planning where provided, manage classroom behaviour effectively and create a positive environment where pupils can continue learning in the absence of their usual teacher.

The successful Primary School Teacher will have:

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – ECTs are encouraged to apply
• Experience working across KS1 and/or KS2
• A strong understanding of the primary curriculum

• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
