Job summary

Potters Green Primary School in Coventry is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team during term time. You will work under teachers with designated pupils, run small group activities and 1:1 support, delivering reading and curriculum tasks to help children progress.

The role emphasises child development, numeracy and literacy skills, resilience under challenging behaviour, and building positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children across the primary age range.
• Experience of working with SEN pupils.
• Knowledge and understanding of child development.
• A desire to further develop their skills.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• An approachable and resilient attitude.
• Motivation to work with children and young people.
• Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
• Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviour.
• Attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of teaching staff, you would work with designated pupils, small groups and 1:1 preparing resources, delivering high-quality interventions, supporting individual reading and other curriculum support activities to enable the children to blossom and grow into confident, capable, independent and successful learners.
• Prepare resources and deliver high-quality interventions.
• Support reading and other curriculum activities to aid progress.
• Be part of a friendly, hardworking team aimed at outstanding education.
