Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant to support general classroom activities and pupils with SEN across West Sussex or Surrey. The role offers £90.00 to £105.00 per day with prompt weekly pay and flexible working options.

You will deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions, assist with classroom resources, and help maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment under teachers and SENCOs.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting primary school children in educational settings.
• Understanding of the primary curriculum and SEN needs.
• Patient, proactive communication with children and staff.
• Ability to build positive relationships across the school community.
• Enhanced DBS checked on Update Service (or ready to complete).

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 targeted support for pupils with SEN to access the curriculum.
• Lead small-group literacy, numeracy and social-skills activities.
• Create an inclusive, welcoming classroom environment.
• Assist with lesson prep, materials, and resource organization.
• Support emotional and behavioral needs using positive strategies.
• Help track pupil progress and share feedback with teachers.
