Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across West Sussex and Surrey. You will provide targeted 1:1 and small-group assistance, helping pupils engage with lessons and build confidence.

The role offers flexible schedules, with daily rates from £90 to £105 and weekly pay. A dedicated regional consultant will support you, and opportunities to develop with SEN-specific training are available.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting primary school-aged children in educational or care settings.
• Understanding of SEN: Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or speech/language difficulties.
• Patient, empathetic, adaptable approach to supporting learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
• Lead literacy, numeracy, and social-skills sessions.
• Create a safe, structured classroom environment with positive behaviour strategies.
• Adapt materials and tasks to individual learning styles under teacher guidance.
• Collaborate with Class Teachers and SENCOs to monitor progress.
