Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant to support general classroom activities and SEN in West Sussex or Surrey. You will provide 1:1 and small-group interventions, fostering an inclusive environment and delivering tailored support.

Role offers flexible full-time or part-time schedules, weekly pay, and a dedicated local consultant. DBS via Update Service required or willing to obtain; online booking app and refer-a-friend benefits available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting primary school-aged children.
• Foundational understanding of the primary curriculum with SEN awareness.
• Patient, approachable and proactive communication with learners.
• Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or ready to complete).

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
• Lead small-group literacy, numeracy, and social-skills interventions.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment where all children feel safe.
• Assist with general classroom management and resource prep.
• Adapt activities and materials to match varying learning styles.
• Support emotional and behavioral needs using positive techniques.
• Promote pupil independence and scaffold daily tasks.
• Monitor pupil progress and share feedback with teachers/SENCOs.
