Job summary

Smile Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Primary Resource Base in Birmingham (B8). The role offers a daily rate of £95–£115, with a September 2026 start and 8:30am–3:30pm hours.

You will support pupils with additional needs including ASC and communication challenges, deliver targeted interventions and work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to promote independence and learning engagement.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a UK primary school.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly Autism (desirable).
• Patient, resilient and caring approach.
• Genuine passion for helping children succeed.

Responsibilities

• Providing tailored support to pupils with additional learning needs.
• Supporting children with Autism in a specialised Resource Base.
• Delivering interventions and adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Encouraging confidence, independence and positive engagement in learning.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff to ensure every child reaches their potential.
