Job summary

Aspire People are seeking experienced General Teaching Assistants for November 2026 across Manchester and surrounding areas, with daily supply and longer-term placements within primary schools after the October half-term break.

Applicants should have recent UK school experience, adaptability, and be able to support reading, writing and Maths, as well as behaviour management and SEND support where required. Flexibility, dependability and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Recent UK-based school experience within the last two years.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a comparable school support role.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible, dependable and professional approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers with daily classroom activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group learning support.
• Assist with reading, writing, Maths and other curriculum activities.
• Help maintain positive behaviour and classroom routines.
• Support pupils with SEND where required.
• Prepare resources and assist with classroom organisation.
• Encourage pupil confidence, participation and independence.
