Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is seeking a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs at a SEND school in Oldbury, in a full-time, long-term role starting September.

You will work with secondary-aged students with autism and complex needs, assisting teachers inside and outside the classroom while promoting independence and progress.

The role offers CPD opportunities, market-leading pay and a referral scheme, with 24/7 consultant support to help onboarding.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly autism and complex needs.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support secondary-aged students with autism, complex needs, communication needs and behaviour needs.
• Work closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality support inside and outside the classroom.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND school in Oldbury, a welcoming secondary SEND school that supports students with complex, profound and multiple learning difficulties, communication and language difficulties, challenging behaviours and acute medical needs. The school provides outstanding support for students with autism, physical disabilities, sensory impairments and complex medical needs, while promoting independence, purposeful choice and celebrating every individual's achievements within a student-centred, family-focused environment.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from September. The successful Level 3 Teaching Assistant will support secondary-aged students with autism, complex needs, communication needs and behaviour needs, working closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality support both inside and outside the classroom while encouraging student engagement, independence and progress.

The successful Level 3 Teaching Assistant will have:

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly autism and complex needs
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• Experience supporting students with communication and behaviour needs
• A patient, caring and proactive approach
• A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential
