Job summary

Connex Education is seeking a caring SEN Primary School Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Kingshurst, supporting KS1 and KS2 pupils. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, adapt activities for autism, ADHD, and speech and language needs, and work with the class teacher and SENCO to help pupils access the curriculum.

The role offers a competitive daily rate of £425–£475 depending on experience, with PAYE paid weekly, and access to funded qualifications

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent UK qualification.
  • Experience in educational settings is essential.
  • Commitment to equality and safeguarding in the classroom.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education.
  • Ability to adapt activities to meet diverse learning needs (ASD, ADHD, speech and language).

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils.
  • Assist the class teacher and SENCO in delivering learning activities.
  • Support KS1 and KS2 pupils with SEN to access the curriculum.
  • Promote inclusive, safe learning environments and positive behaviour.

Role: Primary School Teaching Assistant

Rate of pay: £425 – £475 Dependent on experience

Overview

Connex Education is seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school supporting KS1 and KS2 pupils with special educational needs. In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils access the curriculum and achieve their individual targets. You will adapt learning activities to meet a range of needs—including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties—while promoting communication, confidence, independence, and positive behaviour. Your support will help create a safe, inclusive learning environment where every child is encouraged to make progress and reach their full potential.

Role Requirements
  • Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or Equivalent Level 3 UK Educational qualification is required.
  • Previous experience working in Educational is essential.
