Job summary

Connex Education is partnering with mainstream primary schools in the Middlesbrough and Redcar area to provide reliable supply cover for teachers across Nursery to Year 6. Roles can be full time, part time, or ad hoc days to suit your availability.

Assignments begin immediately for short- or long-term cover, with opportunities from September 2026. Daily pacing includes pay-to-scale rates, weekly PAYE, and access to CPD training through Academize, plus progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teaching Status required for primary teaching roles.
• Experience teaching pupils in a primary school setting is essential.
• Ability to cover and teach a full classroom effectively.
• Knowledge of EYFS/KS1/KS2 curricula is important.

Responsibilities

• Cover classrooms across key stages as needed.
• Deliver engaging lessons and manage student learning.
• Work with small groups for targeted support and intervention.
• Contribute to a positive learning environment and adherence to school policies.

About the role

Connex Education is working with a number of mainstream primary schools based in the Middlesbrough & Redcar area who use regular cover for Primary Teachers. This can be full time, part time, or ad hoc days to suit the availability you have and working from Nursery to Year 6.

About the schools

As a Primary Teacher with Connex you will be working with schools around Teesside schools working with schools who pride themselves on aspiration, inspiration, collaboration and celebrating, creating a nurturing environments that enables children to be successful learners. As a Primary Teacher you will be covering classrooms, PPA and also working with small groups. There are also tuition and intervention opportunities if interested.

Assignment Details

There are opportunities for Primary Teachers with Connex for immediate cover work available until the summer and full time and part time roles available from September 2026. We have work to suit those looking for 2-4 days per week or full time work for either day-to-day, short term or long term cover.

Person Specification

• Qualified Teaching Status


• Have experience of teaching pupils in a primary school setting


• Be confident covering and teaching a full classroom


• Good Knowledge of EYFS/KS1 or KS2 curriculum


• Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one with Connex
