Job summary

AMA Admin in Sheffield is seeking a Class Teacher for our welcoming primary school to inspire and challenge pupils and help every child reach their potential. The role is full-time and permanent, with the possibility of part-time consideration.

Start date is September 2026 or as soon as possible. We welcome both Early Career Teachers and experienced practitioners who are committed to safeguarding and high-quality teaching.

Qualifications

  • Holds QTS and has thorough understanding of the National Curriculum for primary education.
  • Demonstrates consistently high expectations for teaching, learning and behaviour.
  • Has excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Can motivate, inspire and engage children to become confident, independent learners.
  • Is reflective, resilient and committed to continuous professional development.
  • Works effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Experience teaching within EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Knowledge of effective phonics and early reading practice.
  • Experience of curriculum development or subject leadership.

Responsibilities

Class Teacher - Primary School

Location: Sheffield

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (Part-time applications may be considered)

Salary: MPS/UPS, dependent on experience

About the Role

As a Class Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire and challenge all learners.

  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported.

  • Assess, monitor and evaluate pupil progress, using assessment information to inform teaching and raise achievement.

  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), disadvantaged pupils and those with English as an Additional Language (EAL).

  • Promote excellent behaviour, positive attitudes to learning and high expectations for all pupils.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external agencies to support pupils' academic, personal and social development.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities, clubs, educational visits and school events.

  • Uphold the Teachers' Standards and actively contribute to the school's ongoing improvement.

Essential
