Job summary

AMA Admin in Rotherham is seeking a Class Teacher to inspire and support young learners. The role is offered as Full-time / Part-time (Permanent or Fixed Term) with salary on the MPS/UPS scale and start date to be agreed.

You will plan engaging lessons, assess progress and differentiate learning for all pupils, including SEND and disadvantaged learners. You will collaborate with colleagues and parents to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development and contribute to wider school

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
  • Experience in a primary school setting, including teaching placements for ECTs.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress to inform future learning.
  • Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and disadvantaged learners.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance and achievement.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
  • Contribute to wider school life through extracurricular activities and events.
  • Fulfil professional responsibilities in line with the Teachers' Standards.

The Role

As a Class Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners. You will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where children feel valued, supported, and motivated to succeed.


You will work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure pupils achieve their academic, social, and emotional potential while contributing positively to the wider life of the school.

Essential Requirements


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Experience of teaching within a primary school setting (including successful teaching placements for ECTs).

  • Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum.

  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.

  • High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • A willingness to contribute positively to the ethos and values of the school.


Desirable


  • Experience of teaching across different primary age phases.

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND.

  • Knowledge of phonics and early reading strategies.

  • Experience using assessment data to raise pupil attainment.

  • A subject leadership specialism or willingness to lead an area of the curriculum.
