Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS check suitable for working with children, or willingness to complete checks.
• Satisfactory references and pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons per Curriculum for Wales and school requirements.
• Support pupils' progress, development and wellbeing.
• Create a positive classroom environment that promotes participation and love of learning.
• Adapt teaching approaches to learners' differing abilities and needs.
• Assess, monitor and record pupil progress with constructive feedback.
• Establish expectations and promote positive behaviour management.
• Support literacy, numeracy, communication and wider learning skills.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, ALN staff and school professionals.
• Maintain effective communication with colleagues and contribute to pupil development.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality policies.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• - Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons in line with the Curriculum for Wales and the school's curriculum requirements.
• - Support pupils' academic progress, personal development and wellbeing.
• - Create a positive classroom environment that promotes participation, confidence and a love of learning.
• - Adapt teaching approaches and resources to meet the differing abilities, learning styles and needs of pupils.
• - Assess, monitor and record pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
• - Establish clear expectations and promote positive behaviour management strategies.
• - Support pupils' literacy, numeracy, communication and wider learning skills.
• - Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, additional learning needs staff and other school professionals.
• - Maintain effective communication with colleagues and contribute to pupils' ongoing development.
• - Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour management and confidentiality.
• - Ensure all pupils are treated fairly and that their individual needs are recognised and supported.

Essential Requirements

• - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised eligibility to teach in Wales.
• - Experience teaching within a primary school setting.
• - A sound understanding of primary education, lesson planning and pupil assessment.
• - Knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales and the principles of inclusive education.
• - Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• - The ability to adapt teaching methods to meet pupils' individual learning needs.
• - A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• - An enhanced DBS check suitable for working with children, or willingness to complete the required checks.
• - Satisfactory references and completion of all relevant pre-employment compliance checks.
