Qualifications

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant classroom experience.
• Previous experience supporting children within a UK primary school.
• Knowledge or experience of working with pupils with SEND (desirable but not essential).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Ability to use initiative and adapt to the needs of pupils and the school.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Work with individual pupils and small intervention groups to support learning and development.
• Provide additional support for children with SEND, adapting activities to meet individual needs.
• Encourage confidence, independence, and positive behaviour throughout the school day.
• Assist with preparing learning materials and maintaining an organised classroom.
• Observe pupil progress and communicate feedback to teaching staff.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
• Help supervise pupils during breaktimes, school trips, and other activities when required.
• Promote safeguarding and contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment.
