Job summary

Guardian Selection Limited is recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Tameside, supporting pupils across KS2. This is a full-time, long-term role for an experienced TA seeking a settled position for September.

Under the guidance of class teachers, the SENDCo and school leaders, you will deliver learning opportunities for individuals, small groups and whole classes, including phonics interventions, help with behaviour and welfare, and occasional short-term cover for absent

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification for Teaching Assistants.
• Experience with KS1 and KS2 pupils.
• Experience delivering phonics as part of intervention.
• Good knowledge of the National Curriculum.
• Fluent spoken English.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Willingness to undertake first aid training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver learning opportunities for individuals, small groups and whole classes.
• Deliver phonics as part of intervention work or differentiated group teaching.
• Establish good relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model.
• Promote inclusion and cooperative engagement among pupils.
• Provide feedback on progress and mark/record work.
• Attend to children's personal and pastoral needs; assist with welfare matters.
• Lead play activities during playtime and lunchtime.
• Contribute to behaviour management strategies and liaise with parents.
• Accompany teachers on educational visits and assist in supervision.
• Undertake safeguarding training and follow procedures.
