Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for a warm, inclusive SEND primary school in Bury, Manchester. The role involves supporting pupils with diverse needs across Early Years, KS1 and KS2, providing 1:1 and small group support, and helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

You will build positive relationships, assist with lesson delivery, and contribute to a nurturing environment where every child can reach their full potential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Title: SEND TA

Area: Bury, Manchester

Start Date: Tuesday 1st September 2026

Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time

Salary: 525 - 700 per week (depending on experience)

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

About the school

We are working with a warm and inclusive SEND primary school in Bury looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), profound and multiple learning difficulties, and significant communication challenges.

This full-time role involves working closely with children across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will play a vital role in building positive, supportive relationships, providing one-to-one and small group support, and contributing to a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.

Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to engage creatively with children are essential, as your work will make a meaningful impact on their learning and personal development.

  • A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach
  • Strong understanding of Autism and SEND
  • A relevant TA qualification
To be eligible you must
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
