Hindley Green Community Primary School is seeking a Cover Supervisor to maintain continuity in learning during staff absences. You will supervise classes, support pupils including those with SEND, and help implement planned activities to keep learners engaged.

You will work with teaching staff to deliver lessons, manage behaviour positively, and create a safe, inclusive environment. This role offers the chance to develop professionally within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, ideally in an educational or care setting.
• Confident in managing whole-class behaviour and supporting pupils with diverse learning needs.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills; willingness to develop specialist knowledge.
• Adaptable, dependable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during staff absences, keeping pupils engaged and on task.
• Provide targeted assistance to pupils with SEND to access the curriculum.
• Support lesson plans with teachers, manage behaviour, and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Support small groups or individuals and contribute to personalised learning plans.
• Participate in other school activities and help pupils feel supported and motivated.
