Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting an experienced Primary School Caretaker to support a welcoming primary school in Ashton-under-Lyne. The role is full-time and long-term, with duties including opening and securing the school site and daily site checks.

Applicants must have UK school caretaker experience of more than 6 months and be able to work independently, with a focus on safety, safeguarding and practical maintenance. DBS enhanced check is preferred or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Must have more than 6 months' caretaker experience in a UK school.
• Knowledge of school site procedures and health & safety is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Reliable, organised and proactive with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Open and secure the school site.
• Carry out daily checks of buildings and grounds.
• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Ensure a safe, secure and well maintained environment.
• Manage site security, access and deliveries.
• Support contractors and visitors to the school.
