Job summary

VN Appointments is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Wickford. You will support pupils with additional needs and ASD, helping them access the curriculum and stay engaged in lessons.

Ideal candidates are calm, patient, and confident in communicating with pupils and staff. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, in a welcoming school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with additional needs.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD.
• Ability to work with pre-verbal children.
• Calm, patient and caring approach.
• Flexible and professional within a school environment.
• Confidently communicate with pupils and staff.
• Passionate about helping children reach their potential.
• Comfortable using ICT.
• Contribute to a positive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with teaching staff to provide consistent support to pupils, helping them engage with learning and access the curriculum.
• Support children with individual needs and ensure an inclusive classroom experience.
• Assist with classroom activities and supervision as required.
