Job summary

Protocol Education in Watford is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support learning across EYFS to KS2. The role involves delivering planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher and leading targeted literacy and numeracy interventions.

Ideal candidates will have HLTA qualification or strong primary TA background, excellent communication, and the ability to support diverse learning needs.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or significant experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Confidence leading whole-class learning sessions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to support children with a range of learning needs and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Delivering planned lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher.
• Leading small group interventions to raise attainment in literacy and numeracy.
• Supporting pupils with varying learning needs, including SEND.
• Working closely with class teachers to plan and deliver engaging learning activities.
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Assisting with assessment and classroom organisation where required.
