Job summary

Teach Now is recruiting an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Barnet from September 2026. This full-time role will involve supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2, delivering targeted interventions and providing classroom cover.

The school seeks a confident, adaptable HLTA who can build strong pupil relationships and step into whole-class teaching when required. DBS clearance applies.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or recognised Level 3 qualification with relevant experience.
• Recent experience in a UK primary school.
• Capability to support KS1/KS2 and cover classes as needed.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons during teacher absence or PPA time.
• Lead small-group interventions in English and mathematics.
• Support pupils with SEN and additional learning needs.
• Prepare resources and adapt activities for different abilities.
• Record pupil progress and share feedback with teachers.
• Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO and support staff.
