Job summary

TeacherActive is excited to be working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Huyton, who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a long-term basis. Start date ASAP / September 2026, and a long-term contract with the potential for continuity.

The successful HLTA will support pupils across the primary age range and deliver engaging lessons and interventions in the temporary absence of the class teacher.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a primary school setting.
• Relevant HLTA, TA or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lead whole-class learning and small-group interventions.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the primary age range and deliver engaging lessons and interventions in the absence of the class teacher.
• Contribute to a positive learning environment and assist with wellbeing and development.
• Work collaboratively with school staff to support pupil progress.
