Job summary

Mount Pleasant Primary School is seeking an experienced Cover Supervisor/HLTA to join the team on a fixed-term basis. The role supports teachers and teaching assistants during absences and ensures pupils receive a positive, purposeful learning experience.

The candidate should be HLTA level or higher, with a strong grasp of primary education and SEND needs. The successful candidate will be deployed across the school as needed, maintain classroom continuity, and contribute positively to the wider

Qualifications

• Experience in a primary school setting, ideally HLTA level or above.
• Strong understanding of teaching, learning and pupil engagement.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality cover for teachers and teaching assistants when staff are absent.
• Deliver consistent learning experiences and maintain positive pupil engagement.
• Work across the school as required to support priorities for the day.
• Establish positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Maintain high expectations of pupil behaviour and achievement.
