Job summary

Simply Education Ltd is seeking a confident Primary Cover Supervisor to support teaching and learning across our primary schools. You will lead classes in the teacher's absence and provide targeted interventions to help pupils reach their potential.

As an HLTA/cover role, you will support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development, working closely with staff, SENCOs, and senior leaders to drive progress and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Unqualified Teacher, or Higher Level Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
• Excellent classroom management and confidence leading whole-class learning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Flexible, proactive and professional approach.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND and safeguarding training is desirable.
• First Aid qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons and supervise whole classes in the absence of the class teacher.
• Support learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Provide targeted interventions for individuals and small groups.
• Adapt activities to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND.
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain an engaging classroom environment.
• Work with teachers, SENCOs and senior leaders to support pupil progress.
• Assist with assessment, monitoring and recording of pupil achievement.
• Foster a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
