Job summary

Vetro is seeking a proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a well-regarded primary school in Liverpool. You will support delivery of the national curriculum, assist with planning and assessment, and supervise classes during short absences while promoting inclusivity and pupil development.

Qualifications

• Numeracy and literacy demonstrated to GCSE A-C level or NVQ Level 3.
• Recent training in learning strategies (e.g., English Friendly).
• Experience working with children in a primary setting.
• Enhanced DBS check completed or in process.
• Positive, approachable manner with calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teachers in delivering the national curriculum across the primary phase.
• Assisting in planning, resource management, and assessment of pupils’ progress.
• Supervising classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
• Providing targeted support for pupils with SEND, EAL, or those who are underachieving.
• Contributing to the development of school policies and supporting the wider school community.
