Slough Borough Council is seeking a Pride in Place Programme Manager to lead a high‑profile ten‑year regeneration investment, turning ambition into action with communities, partners and residents.
You will develop Regeneration Plans for Britwell and Langley Foxborough, manage complex projects, ensure strong governance and financial oversight, and balance ambition with practical delivery while promoting inclusion and engagement.
Are you an experienced programme leader who can turn ambition into action? Do you thrive at the point where communities, partners, politics and delivery come together? Slough Borough Council is looking for a confident, collaborative and commercially minded Pride in Place Programme Manager to lead a major ten-year investment programme that will make a visible and lasting difference for local residents.
The Pride in Place Programme will invest £20 million over ten years in Britwell and Langley Foxborough, with residents and partners helping to shape priorities through local Neighbourhood Boards. As the Council’s Programme Manager, you will be at the heart of this work: developing two Regeneration Plans, overseeing complex capital and revenue projects, and ensuring strong governance, financial management and reporting throughout delivery.
This is a high-profile opportunity to lead with influence, build trust across communities, support effective decision-making and ensure investment translates into sustainable outcomes for local people.
You will bring significant experience of leading large, complex programmes, ideally within regeneration, local government or another complex public sector environment. You will be confident working with senior stakeholders, elected members, government departments, community leaders and residents, and you will understand how to balance ambition, accountability and practical delivery.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, politically aware, financially astute and comfortable navigating complexity. Just as importantly, you will be passionate about inclusive engagement, partnership working and helping communities shape the places they call home.
This is a rare chance to lead a long‑term, resident‑led investment programme with real scale, visibility and purpose. You will have the opportunity to shape meaningful change, support local pride, strengthen partnerships and help deliver improvements that communities can see, feel and benefit from for years to come.
Lead a neighbourhood investment programme and help shape the future of Britwell and Langley Foxborough.
Our vision is to make a difference to our communities and environment. Every employee contributes to services for local people, directly or by supporting colleagues. We celebrate diversity and want residents to enjoy fulfilling, prosperous and healthy lives.
We offer a supportive place to grow your career, where your input is valued and heard. You will join a friendly, collaborative environment where ambition and innovation are encouraged.
We support flexible and hybrid working to help colleagues achieve a positive work‑life balance. We welcome applications from all backgrounds, recruit on merit and value a workforce that reflects the communities we serve.
Annual increments, where applicable, are usually payable on 1 April, subject to six months’ service and satisfactory performance, until the maximum spinal column point is reached.
