Right Now Group are recruiting for an Airfreight Pricing Operator to join our client’s established forwarder in Ashford, Kent. The role focuses on handling pricing enquiries, securing competitive rates, and generating customer quotations within a fast-paced commercial environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with Sales and Operations to ensure pricing is competitive and profitable, with opportunities to develop into a specialist pricing career within the freight forwarding sector.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day airfreight pricing enquiries from customers, Sales and internal teams.
• Obtain competitive buying rates from airlines, handling agents, hauliers and overseas partners.
• Prepare accurate and commercially competitive customer quotations.
• Calculate selling rates while ensuring agreed profit margins are achieved.
• Ensure all costs are included within quotations (freight, surcharges, handling, customs, etc.).
• Work with Sales to support new business opportunities and customer enquiries.

Right Now Group are currently recruiting for an Airfreight Pricing Operator to join our client's established freight forwarding operation in Ashford Surrey . This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous freight forwarding or airfreight experience who either has existing pricing experience or is looking to take the next step in their career and move into a commercial pricing role . The successful candidate will be responsible for handling day-to-day airfreight pricing enquiries, obtaining competitive rates from airlines and suppliers, preparing customer quotations and working closely with the Sales and Operations teams to ensure pricing is both competitive and profitable. The role would suit an experienced Airfreight Operator looking to move into pricing, or an existing Freight Pricing Executive who wants to develop their career within a busy and commercially focused forwarding environment. This is a fast-paced position that requires excellent attention to detail, good communication skills and a strong understanding of airfreight operations and costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day airfreight pricing enquiries from customers, Sales and internal teams.
• Obtain competitive buying rates from airlines, handling agents, hauliers and overseas partners.
• Prepare accurate and commercially competitive customer quotations.
• Calculate selling rates while ensuring agreed profit margins are achieved.
• Ensure all relevant costs are included within quotations, including freight, fuel/security surcharges, handling, customs, collection, delivery and other associated charges.
• Work closely with the Sales team to support new business opportunities and customer enquiries.
• Liaise with airlines and suppliers to secure the best possible rates and service options.
• Compare airline rates, routings, transit times and service levels to identify the most suitable options.
• Monitor market rates and changes in airline pricing.
• Maintain accurate supplier rate sheets and pricing records.
• Review existing customer pricing and identify opportunities to improve margins.
• Assist with larger, more complex or time-sensitive airfreight quotations.
• Work closely with Operations to ensure quoted services, routings and costs are achievable.
• Investigate and resolve pricing discrepancies where required.
• Support the wider team with pricing queries and rate information.
• Ensure quotations are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Maintain strong working relationships with airlines, suppliers, overseas agents, Sales and Operations.
• Contribute to improving pricing processes and efficiency within the department.
• Ensure all pricing is commercially viable before being issued to customers.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience within airfreight, freight forwarding or logistics.
• Experience in airfreight pricing would be advantageous, but is not essential.
• Good understanding of international airfreight procedures, costs and terminology.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good commercial awareness and an understanding of profit margins.
• Confident communication skills with the ability to liaise with airlines, suppliers, customers and internal teams.
• Good negotiation skills and the confidence to challenge and negotiate supplier rates.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple pricing requests and deadlines.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
• Experience using freight forwarding or pricing systems would be advantageous.
• Boxtop experience would be advantageous , but not essential.

Salary & Working Hours

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience

Location: Ashford, Kent

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday

Hours: 09:00 - 17:30
