Job summary

The Emerald Group seeks a Pricing Models Manager to join its Retail Pricing team in London/Manchester. You will lead analyses and projects to improve predictiveness of claims cost models, oversee rate-series creation, and deploy models into live pricing.

The role requires strong maths/CS background, advanced Excel, SAS, R, Python and a proven pricing analytics track record. You will collaborate with stakeholders across segments to ensure accurate, fair pricing and drive continuous model

Qualifications

• 2:1 or higher in mathematics, CS or related field.
• Strong programming and analytics skills with insurance context preferred.
• Advanced Excel and statistical modelling experience required.

This company is seeking a Pricing Models Manager to come join their Retail Pricing team. You’ll manage analyses and projects that continually improve the predictiveness of their claims cost models. They have vacancies across their Motor and Home teams.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Plan, manage, and review technical claims cost models, securing buy-in and support from key stakeholders
• Manage a reconciled process for rate series creation, and maintenance and deployment of models into live rates
• Consider the impact on customers of pricing actions and act to avoid any unfair treatment
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders on portfolio analytics
• Own pricing models including build, maintenance, and ongoing enhancements, taking models for approval pre-deployment, and the pricing quality control process
• Higher education in a mathematics or computer science related discipline, with equivalent grades of 2:1 or higher, or evidence of equivalent proficiency
• Advanced level knowledge of products such as Excel, Visual Basic, SAS, R, H2O, Python, SQL, Emblem and geographic analysis tools is essential
• Detailed understanding of appropriate statistical techniques for insurance risk analysis and demand pricing
• Ability to grasp the significance and meaning of a range of technical and complex issues relating to underwriting, claims handling, pricing, reserving and financial analysis of insurance
• Proven ability to plan and prioritise own work and the work of others with a continuous appetite to learn and develop skills
