Job summary

The Emerald Group is seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst to join its Retail Pricing team in London or Manchester. The role is permanent and focuses on building and refining pricing models, datasets, and analyses to support pricing decisions across the retail portfolio.

Key responsibilities include creating, validating and reconciling datasets, developing rating models, and ensuring pricing actions consider customer impact and fairness.

Qualifications

• Excellent numerical mathematical skills and degree or equivalent proficiency.
• Experience in a related Insurance Pricing role is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of predictive modelling for claims cost.
• Advanced knowledge of Python, SQL, Databricks and geospatial tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Create, validate and reconcile datasets for analysis and code-based analysis.
• Support in creating, maintaining and deploying rating models predicting claims cost.
• Contribute to specification, development and testing cycles for rate deployment.
• Assess pricing actions' impact on customers and avoid unfair treatment.

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

• Create, validate and reconcile datasets for analysis and undertake analysis by writing and manipulating code
• Support in the creation, maintenance and deployment of rating models that predict claims cost
• Contribute to the specification, development and testing cycles for deployment of rates
• Consider the impact on customers of pricing actions and act to avoid any unfair treatment
• Excellent numerical mathematical skills (a degree in a mathematics related discipline or evidence of equivalent proficiency).
• Experience in a related Insurance Pricing role is strongly preferred.
