Job summary

Edwards Employment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Pressman in Chesterfield to join the production team on a 12-week temp-to-perm basis. The role requires hydraulic press and production experience, with a move to permanent after 12 weeks.

You will work on hydraulic presses, producing silicone materials and conducting quality checks. Shifts include Day or Night with 48-hour paid weeks, and a potential pay increase and bonuses upon permanent placement.

Contract: 12-week temporary position with the opportunity to become permanent

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Pressman to join our production team on a 12-week temp-to-perm basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous hydraulic press and production experience who is looking for a long-term permanent position. Successful candidates will initially be employed on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to move into a permanent role after 12 weeks.

Key Duties

• Operating a hydraulic press safely and efficiently


• Manufacturing silicone materials to the required specifications


• Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet the required standards


• Packing finished orders ready for dispatch


• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment


• Following production procedures and health & safety requirements

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience operating a hydraulic press


• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment


• Good attention to detail and quality control skills


• Reliable and hardworking with a good work ethic


• Able to work independently and as part of a team


• Comfortable working long shifts in a production environment

Shift Patterns & Hours

Day Shift
5:45am – 5:45pm
48-hour paid week

Night Shift
5:45pm – 5:45am
48-hour paid week

Working Pattern

• Mainly Monday–Thursday


• Occasionally Monday–Wednesday


• Once permanent, Thursday may be paid even when not worked in certain circumstances

Pay & Benefits

First 12 Weeks – Temporary / Agency

• Paid at minimum wage


• Paid weekly on Friday


• 12-week temp-to-perm opportunity

Once Permanent

• Pay increase upon going permanent


• Paid weekly on Thursday


• £200 quarterly bonus


• Additional bonus paid every second week of the month
