Job summary

Gi Group is seeking a Press Operator for a client in the automotive engineering and manufacturing sector in Coventry. The role pays £13 per hour and is full-time with rotating shifts 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00, Monday to Friday. You will operate press machinery, follow run procedures and complete daily production paperwork.

The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and experience with presses. Onsite facilities include parking and an canteen.

Qualifications

• Some mechanical aptitude is preferred.
• Experience with progression presses is a plus.
• Experience as a press operator previously is beneficial.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Follow the procedure for a new run on the press.
• Continue a job according to the schedule of requirements.
• Perform regular checks on the press during operation.
• Complete daily production sheets and related paperwork promptly.
• Check and change heat code and date stamp as required.
• Pull a die or stamp when a job is complete or as required.
• Ensure all bins are accurately tagged.
• Conduct regular safety checks on the presses and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Operate press machinery.

About the Company:

Our client specialises in engineering and manufacturing for the automotive industry, providing complex mechanisms, suspension systems, body structures and lightweight composite solutions

Key responsibilities:

• Ability to follow the Procedure for a new run in the Press
• Responsible for continuing a job following the schedule of requirements
• Performing regular checks on the Press whilst running
• Responsible for the completion of daily production sheets and other paperwork as required in a timely manner.
• Responsible for checking/changing heat code & date stamp as required.
• Responsible for pulling a die/stamp when job is complete or as required.
• Responsible for ensuring all bins are accurately tagged.
• Ability to perform regular safety checks on the Presses and ensure the work area is kept clean and organised.
