Job Title: Press Officer

We are collaborating with a Catholic charity to recruit a new Press Officer. The successful candidate will be instrumental in elevating the charity’s profile by increasing media coverage of Christian persecution-related issues across traditional and digital platforms. Your role will involve expanding the charity’s media output to enhance public recognition and establish it as the primary contact for media inquiries on this topic.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Source news stories and editorial material related to the charity’s focus.
2. Review and improve current media outreach strategies.
3. Develop and implement a revised media strategy to meet current needs.
4. Serve as the main point of contact for media relations.
5. Provide regular press releases and media materials to journalists.
6. Support the charity’s advocacy objectives through effective media outreach.

Strategic Competencies:

Motivated by the charity’s cause, with a strong understanding of the Catholic Church’s teachings and practices, and aligned with its mission and values.

Additional Details:

• Location: South-west London/Surrey, Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days from home).
• Salary: £33,000 per annum.
• Holiday Allowance: Starts at 25 days, increasing to 30 days after 5 years, plus bank holidays, a 3-day Christmas shutdown, and your birthday off.
• Employment Type: Full-time, permanent.
