Job summary

The Recruitment Fix is seeking a Press Brake Operator for a permanent role based in Nelson, United Kingdom. The position offers a competitive pay rate of £15 - £17 per hour, with 40-hour weeks and overtime available.

Experience on Amada or Trumpf press brakes is preferred and the role includes working in a professional production environment. Key duties include operating and setting press brakes, reading engineering drawings, and ensuring high-precision bending of metal sheets.

Qualifications

• Read, understand, and fully interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience in setting and operating Trumpf, Bystronic, or other press brakes.
• Good experience of modern manufacturing techniques.
• Ability to understand CNC programmes.
• Ability to lift products up to 25 kg unaided.
• Able to communicate effectively face to face.

The Job

• Operating and setting press brakes (Trumpf).
• Reading, interpreting, and working from engineering drawings.
• Responsible for operating machinery used to bend and shape metal sheets into various forms requiring high precision and accuracy.
• Identify and solve problems before folding operations commence.
• Identify any order shortages before folding operations commence and inform the Leading Hand.
• Suggest improvements to the production process and procedures to maintain the highest standards of quality for both external customers and internal teams.
• Monitor the safe use of all machines and tooling within the folding section and report any machine issues, breakdowns, tooling damage or other issues likely to impact productivity or safety to the Leading Hand.
